Position Overview: This role serves as a technical expert responsible for enterprise infrastructure support, with a focus on Active Directory, server administration, and printer management across distributed environments. The position ensures compliance with IT policies while providing hands-on support, troubleshooting, and coordination with internal teams and vendors to maintain secure and efficient operations.
Duties:
Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft Active Directory solutions, including account provisioning standards, group policies, naming conventions, and domain controller operations
Administer user accounts using CUPSS, including creation of resource, service, test, training, and distribution accounts, as well as managing security groups
Approve, deny, configure, suspend, and reactivate user and privileged accounts while troubleshooting account-related issues
Support end users and IT staff with account management tasks such as transfers, password resets, and group membership updates
Oversee file and print server environments, including provisioning access, managing permissions, and maintaining server configurations
Create, update, migrate, and manage file shares while ensuring proper access control, auditing, and data integrity
Perform data recovery and restoration activities using backup systems and shadow copy, and coordinate with backup teams as needed
Monitor and manage server storage capacity, resolve mapped drive issues, and perform data transfers between servers
Administer enterprise printer environments, including managing print queues, configuring network printers, and maintaining printer servers
Troubleshoot printer issues in collaboration with users and vendor representatives and provide installation and configuration support
Deploy printer firmware updates, maintain drivers, and manage printer-related software on dedicated servers
Develop and maintain printer installation procedures and assist with printer inventory tracking
Establish and enforce standards for infrastructure server roles, file access control, and auditing practices
Serve as the primary point of contact for Active Directory, account services, and endpoint protection communications
Participate in disaster recovery and continuity planning and support response efforts during critical incidents
Act as a liaison between internal teams and external vendors to resolve operational and technical issues
Execute special projects and contribute to service management, knowledge management, and accessibility standards
Provide after-hours technical support on an as-needed basis and respond to emergency or continuity operations directives
Required Qualifications:
5 years of experience working in Enterprise IT environments supporting infrastructure and operations
3 years of experience with Active Directory administration, including user, group, and policy management
3 years of experience managing file share and print server environments
3 years of experience with networking fundamentals, including troubleshooting connectivity and infrastructure issues
3 years of experience providing endpoint and remote support to end users
2 years of experience with CUPSS or other identity provisioning/IAM tools
2 years of experience with scripting technologies such as PowerShell or VBScript for automation and administration
2 years of experience managing Microsoft 365 and Exchange resources
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong technical documentation
Proven adherence to established processes, policies, and IT governance standards
Strong security mindset with the ability to apply best practices in access control and system management
Professional written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to follow organizational chain-of-command and escalation procedures
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in high-impact situations
Strong independent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant Identity and Access Management (IAM) or security certifications
Experience supporting users and administrators in large enterprise environments
Experience working within government or public sector IT environments
