Position Overview:
This role seeks an experienced Oracle Database & Systems Administrator to support and enhance a complex financial system environment, including Oracle EBS and multiple Oracle APEX applications. The position focuses on system stability, security, upgrades, and deployments, requiring strong expertise in Oracle technologies and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Duties:- Administer and support Oracle databases (v19), including maintenance, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning
- Manage and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) in a Linux environment, including system administration tasks
- Support and deploy changes for Oracle APEX applications (versions 21 and 24), including workflow features
- Perform quarterly security patching, system updates, and database upgrades
- Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and database issues, including creating and managing Oracle service requests
- Utilize Oracle database job scheduler for automation and batch processing
- Write and maintain SQL and PL/SQL scripts, including scripts for routine data loads
- Support migrations from on-premise environments (PCA) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams while also working independently to deliver solutions
- Provide accurate effort estimates and communicate progress effectively to stakeholders
- Apply RDBMS best practices and adhere to SDLC methodologies (Agile and Waterfall)
- Create and maintain clear, usable technical documentation
- Support environments across both Windows and Linux operating systems
- Assist in designing Oracle-based solutions and contributing to software development efforts
- Participate in off-hours work, including nights and weekends, to support patching and deployments
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience with Oracle Application database administration (version 19)
- 5+ years of experience working with Oracle APEX (versions 21 and 24), including workflow functionality
- 5+ years of experience supporting Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) in a Linux environment
- 5+ years of Oracle database upgrade experience
- 5+ years of experience in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) system administration
- 5+ years of experience working with both Windows and Linux operating systems
- 5+ years of experience in Oracle database maintenance, patching/upgrades, creating Oracle service requests, and resolving issues promptly
- 5+ years of experience utilizing the Oracle database job scheduler
- 5+ years of strong understanding of RDBMS principles and Oracle database best practices
- 5+ years of demonstrated ability to work independently, communicate effectively with team members, and provide accurate effort estimates
- 5+ years of strong verbal and written communication skills
- 5+ years of experience creating clear and usable technical and non-technical documentation
- 5+ years of experience writing scripts to perform routine data loads
- 5+ years of experience with SQL and PL/SQL
- 5+ years of understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies
Preferred Skills:
- 5+ years of experience deploying changes for Oracle APEX applications
- 5+ years of experience designing Oracle solutions and contributing to software development efforts
- 5+ years of experience migrating Oracle EBS, APEX applications, and databases from on-premise PCA environments to the cloud
- 2+ years of experience with Oracle Unified Auditing
- Experience working within a healthcare environment
