PMO Project Portfolio Manager

Contract Length: 5 months + extensions
Position Overview:
The PMO Project Portfolio Manager serves as a strategic consultant, leveraging deep technical and industry expertise to assess organizational needs, analyze complex problems, and recommend effective business and technology solutions. This role guides executive stakeholders, leads data-driven evaluations, and ensures high-value decision-making across multiple initiatives.
Duties:
Guide executive-level stakeholders using industry standards and specialized technical expertise.
Conduct audits, studies, and surveys to gather data and assess business or technical problems.
Analyze operational challenges and recommend solutions involving process improvements, technology changes, or alternative methodologies.
Provide consulting services, including advisory support, expertise, and solution recommendations for governmental organizations.
Mentor and provide guidance to agency personnel and leadership.
Perform detailed data analysis to identify obstacles and propose actionable improvements.
Develop recommendations for business processes, system integrations, and technical enhancements based on research and hands-on experience.
Present findings and solution options to leadership to support informed decision-making.
Utilize strong project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Waterfall, Kanban) to support structured, consistent oversight.
Leverage ServiceNow expertise to enhance reporting, workflows, or portfolio management processes.
Prepare clear, data-driven reports using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Operate independently as a self-starter with strong attention to detail and assertiveness.
Required Skills:
10 years of Project Management experience
Strong experience in data analysis and reporting
Strong experience with project management methodologies (PMBOK), preferably Waterfall or Kanban
Proficient experience with the ServiceNow platform
Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Skills:
PMP or CAPM certification (highly desired)
