Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated SQL Server and Database Administrator to support a range of enterprise-level applications and data systems. This role involves managing database environments, ensuring performance and security, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain and improve data infrastructure.

Duties:
  • Perform database management activities using Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019

  • Install, configure, and maintain database software and related infrastructure

  • Analyze, design, and review logical and physical data models

  • Support the application development lifecycle, including data analysis and correction

  • Load, migrate, and transform data across various database structures

  • Review and migrate stored procedures, recommending performance enhancements

  • Write and use SSIS packages and PowerShell scripts for automation and data tasks

  • Enforce and help maintain established database standards

  • Monitor database performance and space usage; provide optimization recommendations

  • Analyze and resolve performance issues in a timely and efficient manner

  • Assist with upgrades and migrations from older SQL Server versions to newer ones

  • Maintain database access security and ensure data integrity

  • Ensure proper backup and restore procedures are followed and verified

  • Provide input on database server infrastructure and software recommendations

  • Represent DBA staff in project status and technical meetings as needed

  • Collaborate with team members including developers, DBAs, and infrastructure staff

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Use Azure DevOps for source control, work item tracking, documentation, and time reporting

  • Complete assigned tasks independently and proactively resolve issues

  • Provide accurate status updates to team leads and project managers

  • Stay current with new database technologies and recommend improvements or best practices

  • Serve as backup for the chief of the database administration section when required


Required Skills:
  • 2 years of experience performing database management activities using Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019

  • 2 years of experience writing and using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and PowerShell scripts

  • 2 years of experience assisting with SQL Server version upgrades and conversions

  • 2 years of experience supporting database server infrastructure and performing software analysis and recommendations

  • 2 years of experience ensuring proper database backup and restore procedures

  • 2 years of experience maintaining database access security and ensuring data integrity
