Position Overview:
This High-Risk Project Manager will lead and support the planning, execution, and oversight of high-visibility projects within the strategic portfolio, ensuring alignment with established risk management frameworks. This role includes developing training and reporting tools while mentoring agencies on high-risk project execution and risk mitigation.
Duties:
Manage high-risk projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
Oversee day-to-day project operations including task assignments, status tracking, budget management, and issue resolution.
Provide risk management mentorship and guidance to assigned agencies.
Support development of a mission charter and needs assessments to align agency operations with strategic goals.
Develop training materials focused on managing high-risk projects.
Assist in building risk management dashboards and reporting tools.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, local government entities, and third-party vendors to ensure coordinated project delivery.
5 years of senior-level experience in portfolio management is required.
5 years of experience managing projects valued over $10 million is required.
5 years of hands-on experience using Microsoft Project or another commercial project management tool is required.
An active PMP certification is required.
