This position is responsible for managing technical documentation, requirements gathering, and solution proposals in support of hosted application environments, including cloud, co-location, and managed services. The role serves as a customer-facing technical consultant, transforming business needs into compliant, cost-effective IT specifications and ensuring successful delivery through coordination, reporting, and process improvement.

Required Skills:
  • 2 years of experience in an IT position

  • Experience with hosted application environments, including:

    • Managed Services (MS)

    • Managed Services Lite (MSL)

    • Co-location (Colo)

    • Cloud services

    • Secondary Data Center (SDC)

  • Knowledge of server, storage, and licensing sizing

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools

  • Experience drafting solution proposals, including hardware, software, service configurations, and cost models

  • Strong skills in:

    • Technical and business documentation

    • Preparing and maintaining status reports

    • Creating technical contact resource lists

  • Ability to track and document proposal approvals and deployment progress

  • Experience conducting and documenting:

    • Infrastructure sizing and analysis

    • Migration and integration timelines

    • Cost estimations

    • Risk and compliance assessments

  • Experience managing change management requests in an enterprise environment

Preferred Skills:
  • ITIL v4 certification (highly desired)

Duties:
  • Conduct meetings, prepare reports, draft correspondence, and deliver presentations to gather requirements, resolve issues, and support operational objectives.

  • Participate in requirements and data-gathering sessions, including infrastructure sizing, migration timelines, and service levels.

  • Verify technical requirements align with IT best practices, EDC standards, and security policies.

  • Author solution proposal documents detailing required hardware, software, services, costs, and transition plans.

  • Transform customer requirements into technical specifications such as server and storage sizing, licensing needs, and support levels.

  • Create and manage Service Requests in ServiceNow for technical change management.

  • Maintain current knowledge of enterprise IT policies, bulletins, directives, and security recommendations.

  • Track, document, and report on solution proposal progress, approvals, and costs.

  • Work with delivery teams to ensure proposals receive necessary approvals and deployments are completed.

  • Prepare and analyze metrics, cost analyses, and capacity reports for leadership.

  • Generate reports and advise on technology improvements to enhance operations.

  • Support ongoing process improvement initiatives to streamline and automate service request workflows.

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for the Service Request and Solution Proposal processes.

  • Provide consultative services to agencies regarding costing information for budget planning.
