Position Overview:
This role provides on-site, Hybrid application development and database support for a mission-critical accountability and payroll support system, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability during routine operations and emergency activations.

The position focuses on enhancing existing .NET and Power Platform solutions, resolving production issues, and delivering new functionality in close collaboration with operational and IT stakeholders.

Required Skills:
  • 7+ years of experience writing, debugging, and optimizing SQL queries using tools such as SQL Developer.

  • Hands-on experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for database development, troubleshooting, and administration.

  • 7+ years of experience developing applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, MVC, .NET, and Microsoft SQL Server.

  • 4+ years of experience using Azure DevOps, including Azure Repos for source control and Azure Boards for Agile backlog and sprint management.

Preferred Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience developing solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • 4+ years of experience working within a public-sector or government IT environment.

  • Experience working in a client-facing consulting role, collaborating with mid-level to senior leadership.

  • Active Federal Security Clearance (Secret) or the ability to obtain one.


Duties:
  • Review, enhance, and support an existing MVC/.NET accountability system, including performance improvements, defect remediation, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Design, develop, and implement new system features using C#, ASP.NET Core, MVC, and related web technologies.

  • Create, deploy, migrate, and support Power Apps and Power Automate solutions across environments.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to propose system improvements, upgrades, and new functionality aligned with operational needs.

  • Conduct testing in controlled environments, support go-live activities, and validate functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Prepare and maintain user training materials, system documentation, and operational procedures.

  • Provide on-site and on-call technical support during emergency activations to ensure full system availability.

  • Troubleshoot and advance .NET applications and underlying SQL Server databases.

  • Design and maintain database architectures, data models, and schemas in alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

  • Develop and optimize complex T-SQL solutions, including stored procedures, triggers, views, joins, cursors, SSIS, and SSRS.

  • Perform SQL administrative and development tasks to support reporting, integrations, and data integrity.

  • Review databases and applications for efficiency, workflows, metadata, permissions, and interface options.

  • Utilize Azure Repos (Git) with branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews to manage source control.

  • Use Azure Boards and Agile practices for backlog management, sprint planning, and delivery tracking.

  • Diagnose technical issues, provide root-cause analysis, and implement effective workaround or permanent solutions.

  • Partner with IT leadership to recommend and deliver solutions that enhance database, reporting, and analytics capabilities.

  • Develop and maintain a catalog of active databases, structures, ownership, and related documentation.

  • Travel to designated locations as required for on-site support, training, and meetings.
