Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support the Unemployment Compensation Tax System (UCTS) project by redesigning a large volume of unemployment compensation tax documents. This role is critical to improving clarity, usability, and compliance through plain language principles and consistent formatting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Redesign and update unemployment compensation tax documents for clarity and accessibility.
  • Apply plain language writing standards to ensure documents are easy to understand for diverse audiences.
  • Format documents in Microsoft Word with precision, ensuring consistency across templates and styles.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather requirements and incorporate feedback.
  • Maintain version control and ensure compliance with departmental guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong client-facing communication skills and ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Proven experience in plain language writing and document simplification.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including styles, templates, and formatting tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with government or public sector documentation projects.
  • Familiarity with unemployment compensation or tax-related content.
