Position Overview:
The Data Governance Analyst supports enterprise data governance initiatives by managing metadata, developing data lineage, and ensuring data quality across critical data assets. This role partners with business and technical stakeholders to maintain governance artifacts, enhance data transparency, and drive consistency in data standards and practices.

Position Overview:
The Data Governance Analyst supports enterprise data governance initiatives by managing metadata, developing data lineage, and ensuring data quality across critical data assets. This role partners with business and technical stakeholders to maintain governance artifacts, enhance data transparency, and drive consistency in data standards and practices.
Duties:
- Maintain and administer the organization’s business glossary, data catalog, and associated metadata for strategic data assets
- Support the development and implementation of metadata management and data modeling tools
- Build and maintain data taxonomy, data dictionaries, and business glossaries for enterprise data assets
- Onboard and integrate domain data sources into the data catalog
- Collaborate with business analysts and solution designers to identify and document critical data elements and associated metadata
- Develop, maintain, and update end-to-end data lineage diagrams from source systems through transformation and consumption layers
- Perform metadata and data quality audits, address gaps and inconsistencies, and report findings to stakeholders
- Troubleshoot metadata-related issues, respond to stakeholder inquiries, and ensure metadata accuracy and completeness
- Document and maintain data classification and sensitivity standards
- Define, document, and implement data quality rules, thresholds, and validation checks for critical data elements
- Support the creation and maintenance of data models
- Utilize Power Platform tools to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency
- Use task tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) to manage work, communicate progress, and keep stakeholders informed
- Monitor personal workload, provide status updates, identify risks, and support mitigation efforts
- Assist with additional governance, data management, or operational responsibilities as needed, including during emergency or high-priority situations
Required Skills:
- 5 years of data governance experience, including metadata curation, data lineage development, business glossary management, and data quality rule implementation
- 5 years of experience coaching and mentoring data stewards on data governance best practices
- 5 years of experience demonstrating strong communication and organizational skills
- 2 years of experience working with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview, Informatica, Alation, or Collibra
- 2 years of knowledge of data governance frameworks and industry best practices
