Network Security Engineer
Position Type: Onsite
Contract Length: 4 months
Position Overview:
The contractor is responsible for the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats.
Duties:
Analyze and define network systems requirements.
Implement network and infrastructure solutions.
Plan and track projects while coordinating interagency efforts in networking, infrastructure, security, and interoperability.
Define and maintain network architecture and infrastructure.
Configure and optimize network servers, hubs, routers, and switches.
Analyze network workload, capacity, and performance.
Monitor and diagnose network issues and resolve problems.
Develop and manage network backup and recovery procedures.
Install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating systems and software.
Apply information security and assurance principles in the delivery of network services.
Manage telephony infrastructure, including VOIP, voice switching, provisioning, and related systems.
Implement and enforce policies for network and infrastructure management, including auditing, inspection, security, disaster recovery, encryption, and compliance.
Monitor network infrastructure using tools such as Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco FMC, Microsoft Active Directory, Intune, Kaseya, Cayosoft, RDP, IDS/IPS devices, firewalls, VMware vCenter, Windows Servers, DHCP, and DNS.
Required Skills:
4 years of experience in the development, configuration, installation, and maintenance of networked systems, including LANs, WANs, and telephony systems.
4 years of experience with network standards, protocols, and procedures.
4 years of experience in network architecture and topology, including transmission protocols, broadcasting, switching, control, and management.
4 years of experience performing routing and networking configuration management functions.
4 years of experience in network systems management methods, including end-to-end systems performance monitoring.
Preferred Skills:
- 4 years with certification in network or system administration, such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, MCSE, or MCSA.
